Folios 505-506: Andrew Farmery Evans, HMS Ruby, Bermuda. Response to a request to state his opinion on the transaction which gave rise to the prosecution of Mr Renner, late Master attendant at the Yard in Bermuda, and his reasons for refusing to interfere in his defence. Encloses a duplicate copy of his statement giving these reasons.
Folios 507-508: enclosure with folios 505-506. Letter dated 6 May 1815 by Andrew Farmery Evans, HMS Ruby, to the Admiralty. Outlines his reasons for not defending Mr Renner, who is being prosecuted by Messrs Joel and Ward for the improper arrest of several gentlemen, who were held overnight in the guard room. They were arrested following the burning of a light at an improper hour.
