Folios 258-259: John Ellis, HMS Spitfire, Spithead. Encloses an Acting Warrant for Thomas Philips, as Purser in the room of Mr J C Wright, deceased. Asks that his appointment be confirmed.
Folio 260: enclosure with folios 258-259. John Ellis, HMS Spitfire, 26 May 1814. Warrant for Thomas Phillips who served as Clerk on HMS Spitfire from 4 August 1812 to 26 May 1814 to be a Purser.
Folios 261-262: enclosure with folios 258-259. John Ellis, HMS Spitfire, Coast of Africa to John Phillips, HMS Spitfire, 26 May 1814. Warrant appointing him Purser following the death of J C Wright.
