Folios 478-479: Watkins Evans, 37 Southampton Street, London. States that he was ordered by the Right Honorouable Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to go to Halifax in July 1810 on board HMS Regulus, from which ship went on board HMS Swiftsure and Atalanta and from there to Bermuda Hospital. Was invalided on passage home in a merchantman, which was taken by the Creole Privateer (French) and was retaken by HMS Surveillante. Remained on half pay until July 1911 when again ordered to go to Halifax in the Spartan. Joined HMS Centurion from where was promoted to command the Sylph on 2 August 1811 and superceded from her on 7 February 1812. When captured by the Creole lost logs and journals for HMS Swiftsure and Atalanata as well as Hospital Certificate etc. Understands without these cannot receive his pay. Under circumstances requests that an order be made for him to be paid from 1 July 1810, dispensing with the logs etc.
