Incorporated by act of 12th August 1889 and handed over to London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company as from 1st July 1892 for working as part of latter company's system. Shortlands & Nunhead Railway Company was vested in London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company as from 1st September 1896 under act of 7th August 1896. London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
