Folios 459-460: Note/Memorandum [?] Sir Georg Eyre presents his compliments to Mr Hay and informs him that upon enquiry of Mr Cooks, the receiver of fees to His Majesty's Household Servants, he has learnt that on the occasion of the following officers, and many more, being knighted the fees were paid by Warrant from the Treasury, at the request of the First Lord of the Admiralty. The Officers were Sir T. Thompson, Sir E. Berry, Sir E Pellew, Sir James Saumerez, Sir G. Collier, Sir T. Staines etc. He would be obliged if Mr Hay to favour him with a line directed to Doncaster, Yorkshire whenever this business is decided.
