Folios 406-407: Charles Ekins, Stonehouse. Encloses letter from John Clark, formerly Gunner of HMS Defence, then under my command, but now of Crown Prince Prison Ship at Chatham, requesting removal to a ship building. States that Mr Clark is a most sober, diligent and attentive man, trustworthy and in his opinion deserves their Lordship's notice and protection.
Folios 408-409: enclosure with folios 406-407. Letter dated 16 December 1811 by John Clark, Gunner, HMPS Kronprincessen, Gillingham. States there are two line of battle ships ordered to be built at Gillingham. Requests he would recommend him to their Lordships as being extremely lame the duty on a prison ship is severe.
