Folios 188-189: John Evans, HMS Marten, Spithead. States has arrived at Spithead as ordered by Admiral Berkeley, Commander in Chief of Lisbon Station. Has seen part of the convoy to their destination but three merchant brigs unable, due to contrary winds, to proceed to the Downs have also anchored at Spithead.
Folio 190: enclosure with folios 188-189. List of French prisoners on HM Sloop Marten who embarked at Lisbon for passage to England. (Letter does not mention enclosure). Lieutenant - Constance Rosegnol, Brigadier - Louis Maintenant, Dragon - Jean Bochard, Jean La Chaise, Joseph Pilot, Francois Solomon, Joseph Pierre, Joseph Venace and Jean Batiste Blanc.
