Folios 147-148: William Elliott, HMS Hazard, Hamoaze. Encloses Acting Order of Abraham Appleby, Gunner on the Hazard. He was examined yesterday and met the required standard. States he is a"very deserving good officer". Requests Admiralty confirmation of the Order.
Folios 149-150: enclosure with folios 147-148. Order given by the Hon. Sir Alexander Cochrane, Rear Admiral of the White on board HMS Belleisle, Carlisle Bay, Barbados dated 25 June 1808. The former gunner of HM Sloop Hazard having been promoted to a ship in England orders Abraham Appleby, Gunner's Mate of HMS Belleisle appointed Acting Gunner of HM Sloop Hazard. Signed by John [?].
