Folios 206-206A: John Elphinstone, HMS Monarch, Spithead. The day after sailing from St Helena, discovered a black man, William Jones, stowed away and who confessed to being the property on a resident of the island named Nipe, this has been communicated to Vice Admiral Elphinstone who advised me not to land him in Great Britain until directions are made known.
