Description

Folios 220-221: Man Dobson, Regulating Officer, Bristol. Covering letter for the inclosed in the cases of William Lawley - Landsman, Henry May - Boy & John Smith - Boy with reports by Lieutenant Rowe and Lieutenant William Pitman.

Folios 222-223:enclosure with folios 220-221. Letter dated 24 September 1813 by J L Davis, 66 Berwick Street Soho, to the Admiralty. On the part of Richard Tongue, Leather parer of Bath, the Master of Henry May who is detained on HM Tender at Pill near Bristol he encloses the Indenture of Apprenticeship to show the grounds on which the Master applied to have the services of his apprentice returned to him. Request he be released and the Indenture is returned.

Folio 224: enclosure with folios 220-221. Letter dated 27 September 1813 by Lieutenant William Pitman, Bristol to Man Dobson, Regulating Officer, Bristol. Report on Henry May aged 15 volunteering on 15 September 1813..

Folios 225-226: enclosure with folios 220-221. Memorial of John Nicholas, Glass Bottle Manufacturer of the City of Bristo . Request the apprentice William Lawley be returned.

Folios 227-228: enclosure with folios 220-221. Letter dated 23 September 1813 by William H. Byam, Bristol, to the Admiralty. States that John Smith aged between 15 and 16 and apprenticed to John Bulley and now on HMS Enchantress. Request he be discharged.

Folio 229: enclosure with folios 220-221. Letter dated 27 September 1813 by Lieutenant Joshua Latimer Rowe, HMS Enchantress, Bristol, to Man Dobson, Regulating Officer, Bristol. Report on John Smith - Boy entering as a volunteer for fear of ill-usage from his Father [and] has nearly five years of his apprenticeship to serve.
