Description

Folios 148-149: Thomas Dundas, HMS Vengeur, Downs. States that it was in consequence of Official Representations made to him as Senior Officer of the Convoy, by Captain Richard Plummer Davies of HMS Garland, and Captain Francis Newcombe of HMS Wanderer, of the great inattention of the Lord Cranston and others, to the Signals made and verbal Orders given to them by these Officers that were in the rear and flank of the Convoy, that induced him to make the plaint [complaint], he did. If their Lordships are of the opinion that the purpose would be answered by directing William [Coilett?] Master of that ship, and others from acting in a like manner.
