Folios 540-541: Richard Plummer Davies, HMS Garland, Portsmouth. Says James Lawson never served on HMS Garland and searching among the prisoners onboard the prison ship fitted out by the Full Blooded Yankie to find out was he an American citizen. HMS Garland’s Surgeon does not recall this man either.
