Folios 522-523: Ross Donnelly, HMS Devonshire, Sheerness. Says he should not have asked for MHS Ceylon’s Boatswain. Asks can Mr Fisher be appointed. He encloses the certificate about his Boatswain from HMS Sussex hospital ship. Recommends Lieutenant James Philips, No 7 Adelphi Terrace and Lieutenant Scallon.
Folios 524-525: enclosed in folios 522-523. Letter dated 14 July 1813 by Richard Kent, Surgeon, HMS Sussex, hospital ship. John Bennett, Boatswain, HMS Devonshire, sixty seven years old was admitted to the Sussex hospital ship, 16 June 1813 with asthma, that’s troubled him for six years. He will never be of use to HM Service as he is so ill.
