Folios 481-482: James Richard Dacres, Rickmansworth, Herts. Says that when HMS Guerriere’s company were kept prisoner at Boston William Davis, Carpenter entered voluntarily on board the American frigate Chesapeake which he finds is so gallantly captured by Captain Broke. Believe his is still on board her saying HMS Guerriere’s Surgeon now onboard HMS Endymion at Plymouth can identify him.
