Description

Folios 449-450: William Henry Dillon, HMS Leopard, Troop ship, Zante [Greece]. Encloses copies of orders from Rear Admirals’ Hallowell [Carew] and John Laugharne giving instructions to take Lieutenant General Campbell, Civil Administrator and C-in-C, the Ionian Islands and his retinue to Zante. Requests direct reimbursement for entertaining them for six weeks.

Folio 451: enclosed in folios 449-450. Admiral John Laugharne, Admiral of the Red, C-in-C Malta to Captain Dillon, 19 April 1813. To take Lieutenant General Campbell to Zante on HMS Leopard, putting to sea early Thursday morning, 22nd. To land all his baggage and return to Malta.

Folio 452: enclosed in folios 449-450. Rear Admiral Benjamin Hallowell, HMS Malta, Alicante Bay to Captin Dillon, HMS Leopard, Troop ship, 20 March 1813. To take Lieutenant General Campbell, appointed Civil Administrator and C-in-C of the Ionian Islands and his suite to Zante, victualling them whilst onboard.

Folio 453: enclosed in folios 449-450. Lieutenant General Campbell, HM Commissioner for the Ionian Islands, Zante, 2 May 1813. Certificate. Suite put onboard 20 March 1813 landing Zante 30 April having been entertained by Captain Dillon during the passage.
