Folios 442-443: George Dundas, HMS Edinburgh, Palermo. Lord William Bentinck asked him would HMS Speculator take his dispatches direct to England. Directed Lord Bentinck to proceed to Falmouth calling at Gibraltar but since had to order her call at Mahon to tell the Admiral that the plague had appeared at Malta.
Folios 444-445: enclosed in folios 442-443. Letter dated 15 May 1813 by Lieutenant General Bentinck, Palermo,to Captain Dundas. Received official intelligence from Malta the plague has broken out in the town. Sends a copy of Lieutenant General Oakes letter to him about it for him to establish regulations regarding vessels arriving from Malta.
