Folios 241-242: Man Dobson, Bristol Regulating Officer. Encloses Lieutenant Turners report on Thomas Morgan. It would be a loss to the service to have him discharged for a pecuniary sum.
Folios 243-244: enclosed in folios 241-242. Letter dated 16 May 1813 by Lieutenant Thomas Turner 2nd, HMS Ann tender, Kingroad, to Captain Dobson. Acknowledging letter 16 May 1813. He impressed Thomas Morgan, 12 May, 25years old from the James sloop of Bristol because he’d had nearly two years at sea previous to the date of his indenture. Three and half years at sea, a fine young man.
Folios 245-246: enclosed in folios 241-242. Petition dated14 May 1813 by Ann Morgan at Mrs Welch, 3 Temple Bank, Bristol. Petition of a poor woman who’ had had sixteen children, many in HM service. Her son Thomas Morgan impressed is on the tender at Pill. An apprentice not served his full time and a great support to his mother. Offers forty pounds for his discharge.
