Description

Folios 211-212: Man Dobson, Bristol Regulating Captain. Encloses report of Lieutenant Turner on the case of Thomas Wickett, a boy. Folios 213-214 enclosed in folios 211-212: Thomas Wickett, c/o 46 Princess Street, Bristol, 3 May 1813 who is onboard the Ann tender at Pill. Petition. 12½years old, was decoyed from his parents by a vile boy and taken onboard the tender instinctively against his own inclination. He’s small and no ways adapted for the service. Requesting he is discharged and restored to his unhappy parents.

Folio 215: enclosed in folios 213-214. Letter dated 30 April 1813 by G. Hooper, Surgeon, Barton Hill, Bristol. Certificate. Thomas Wickett son of Thomas Wickett senior, age 12½ has suffered long time from vertiginous complaints in the head and syncope from his infancy. Always ailing gives his friends alarm.

Folios 216-217: enclosed in folios 211-212. Letter dated 7 May 1813 by Thomas Turner, 2nd Lieutenant, HMS Ann tender, Kingroad,to Captain Dobson. Replies Thomas Wickett, boy onboard the Ann tender volunteered and entered 20 April , is a very fine boy who informed him he was fourteen.
