Folios 392-393: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 4 July 1810. States that (1) Thomas Picken was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 25 June 1810 as an Ordinary [Seaman], aged 33, born in Campbell Town. He was taken on information as having used the Sea. It appears by his own confession he is by trade a Copper Smith and was employed by Mt Sutherland about six years since, but left his service three or four years back. He has been employed by Mr Sutherland since his return for about six months. (2) It does not appear on the Books of the Rendezvous that James Connor was impressed in Liverpool. I therefore return the enclosures [not included].
Folios 394-395: enclosures with folios 392-393. Letter dated 1 July 1810 by Margaret Bretherton, No 9 East Street, Pauls Square, Liverpool. Petition for the discharge of his Son Thomas Picken on finding an Able Bodied Landsman [as a substitute].
