Description (What the record is about)

Folios 382-383: Benjamin Crispin, HMS Kite, Downs. With reference to Orders dated 5 March 1810 from Captain George Wolf of HMS L'Aigle [Aigle]. He proceeded with HMS Kite to Demerara, and arrived on 23 April 1810 and having advised with the Governors Council and Merchants of the different settlements on that Coast relating to trade with England. He sailed on 23 May 1810 over the Bar with one Liverpool Ship and a Galleon bound to Ireland. The whole Trade then ready on the Coast which Convoy he parted Company with from off the Western Islands in a heavy Gale on the 20 June 1810.
