Folios 375-376: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 6 July 1810. States in the case of:- (1) William Ferguson was impressed by Lieutenant [James Hamilton] Clark on 1 July 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 23, born in Dumbarton. He said he was Mate of the Lark which had sailed from Rio de Janeiro with another Mate a few days before. (2) James Brien was impressed by Lieutenant [Henry] Raye on 18 April 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 21, born in Wexford. He said he was Mate of the Eliza, he was apprehended on shore at a quarter before ten o'clock at night. (3) I also enclose a Certificate of Discharge from HMS Halifax (without any description) offered by a Man calling himself James Martin who was impressed by Lieutenant [James Hamilton] Clark as an Able [Seaman], aged 22, born in Ireland. He said he was discharged into the Lydia Ann in lieu of [an] impressed man but being found fit by the Surgeon I impressed him.
Folios 377-378: enclosures with folios 375-376. Petition of William Ferguson, HMS Princess. [Not dated]. Request for discharge. Reply to William Ferguson to the care of Jane Ferguson at John Southants, Gibraltar Street, Liverpool.
Folios 379-380: enclosures with folios 375-376. Petition dated 30 June 1810 by John Brien, Wexford, for the discharge of James Brien. With an offer of substitutes.
Folio 381: enclosure with folios 375-376. Certificate dated 23 July 1808 for the discharge of James Martin, Able Seaman on HMS Halifax.
