Folios 365-366: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reply to letter dated 3 July 1810. States in the case of Michael Clifford, sent to the Nore by HMS Lyra Tender on 29 June 1810. Michael Clifford was apprehended at Sunderland on 12 June 1810 by one of the Midshipman of the Gang at that place, as a deserter from HMS Ardent, when examined he admitted this and sent to the Nore. Has checked and his original impressment on 30 December 1808 is correct. [Questions on his actual age].
Folios 367-368: enclosure with folios 356-366. Letter dated 30 June 1810 by Mr and Mrs Robson, Sunderland. TCovering letter for the enclosed documents [not included] for Michael Clifford. He was bound to him on 5 October 1805 for a term which is not yet expired. He was impressed in December 1808 aged 14 and sent to Shields. He was sent to a ship of war but left without leave but as he was under 16. Trusts he will be discharged.
