Folios 189-190: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reply to letters dated 11 and 12 June 1810. States the case that (1) Colin Campbell was impressed by Lieutenant [James Hamilton] Clarke on the 6 June 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 29, born in Greenock. He said he was Mate of the Hercules, he was taken from a Public House at ten o'clock at night. (2) James Brown was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 9 June 1810 as an Able [Seaman] aged 23, born in Jamaica. [details of how he was seen one day but escaped and them impressed the following day]. (3) Robert Mitchell was impressed by Lieutenant Potter on 6 June 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 28, born in Argyleshire. He said he was Master of the Industry - His Brother who is owner and late the Master now sails her and came here from Ireland where he got his (Robert's) name placed on the Register for Protection. (4) Thomas Dode alias John Dode was impressed by Lieutenant Potter on 4 June 1810 as an Ordinary [Seaman], aged 28, born in Teignmouth. He said he belonged to the Mary of Teignmouth and been at sea 3 years. (5) William Nicholson was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 28 May 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 23, born in Whitehaven. He said he was Mate of the Pomona but had no documents. The next morning the enclosed affidavit dated 17 May 1810 was produced which he said was sworn in February but the description did not match. (6) William Vincent was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 5 May 1810 as an Able [Seaman] aged 30, born in Springfield. (7) George Washey was impressed by Lieutenant [Henry] Raye on 25 April 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 29, born in Fellspoint. He produced the enclosed protection but his cousin (a daughter of Mrs Davisn, Blundell Street) said he was the son of her Mother's Sister, and that he was born in Liverpool. (8) John Brown was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 23 April 1810 as an Able [Seaman] aged 23, born in New York. He said he had lived sixteen years in Bath and had been nine years at Sea. He came here by the Run from London in the Hamilton for five Guineas and is well known here to be a native of Liverpool. [9] Also I send you a Ticket of leave offered by a man calling himself Hugh Hughes who was impressed by Lieutenant Evans as an Able [Seaman] he said he was 22 but is evidently 36 and a native of Wales. He says he has belonged to HMS Terrible for six years, that he was impressed ten years since, he is not the person for whom the enclosed Ticket was intended but evidently a deserter from the Service.
Folios 191-192: enclosure with folios 189-190. Letter dated 8 June 1810 by John Irvin, Liverpool, to the Admiralty, for the enclosed petition and certificate for Colin Campbell. There are two ships mentioned on the certificates. The first, the Marquireto was condemned at Malta Captain McNair purchased the Hercules to replace her.
Folios 193-194: enclosure with folios 191-192. Petition by Archibald McNair of the Hercules for the discharge of Colin Campbell. Dated 8 June 1810. Signed before William [Crosleu?].
Folios 195-196: enclosure with folios 189-190. Benjamin Thomas, Liverpool. To Admiralty. Dated 9 June 1810. Request the discharge of James Brown, Chief Mate of the Brig Elizabeth
Folios 197-198: enclosure with folios 189-190. C Rowlinson & Son, Liverpool. To Admiralty. Dated 9 June 1810. Covering letter for the enclosed affidavit and certificate.
Folios 199-200: enclosure with folios 197-198. Affidavit by John Mitchell Dated 9 June 1810. Sworn before C Rowlinson. [Folio 200] Certificate of British Registry for the Industry to John Mitchell Mariner residing in Greenock is the sole owner. [Bottom of page] Certificate that Robert Mitchell is Master of the Industry. Dated 7 April 1810. Signed Thomas Rouke.

Folio 204: enclosure with folios 189-190. Ticket of leave for Hugh Hughes from 6 June 1810 to 23 June 1810 from HMS Namur at the Nore. Signed Henry Paulet.
