Folios 132-133: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 7 June 1810. States [1] Daniel Leyton was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 18 May 1810, as an Able [Seaman], aged 30, born in Beaufort. He called himself William Leyton and is said to be a native of London. He produced a Protection for Daniel Leyton, New York, Dated 18 July 1801. He had a letter from his sister in Shadwel [Shadwell] London dated 1807. [2] Henry Fearon was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 9 May 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 27, born in Charlston. He was taken on shore at eleven o'clock at night and said he was Mate on the Atlas, the Master of which claimed him the next morning Mate of the Atlas and said he was born in Dumfries. [3] John Yetman alias Yeston was impressed by Lieutenant Potter on 22 May as an Able [Seaman]. aged 28, born in New Castle Hampshire. He came here from Dublin in a Welsh Sloop, said his name was Yetman. The enclosed protection was therefore supposed to have been intended for some other person. [4] John Williams was impressed by Lieutenant Potter on 22 May as an Able [Seaman], aged 36, born in Wis-Casset. He came in the same sloop as Yetman from Dublin and information stated him to be a native of Wales. [5] John Cato was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 29 May 1810 as an Able [Seaman], aged 20, born in New London. He produced a protection dated 1800 saying then 16 years of age , he said he had a protection three years before that, and that he had used the sea eleven years. [6] James Harvey was impressed by Lieutenant Evans on 3 June 1810 as an Ordinary [Seaman], aged 27, born in New London. He was taken on information of being married to the Daughter of a Mr Gough in this town and that his real name is Allen.
