Folios 103-104: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reply to letter dated 5 June 1810 missent to South Shields. Report on the case of David Steel, Able Seaman, now on HMS Namur. He was impressed on 15 May 1810 by Lieutenant Thomas Flinn, North Shields on the River Tyne from the Helen of London, John Barnes Master and was detained for the service having been 3 years at Sea and being about 18. David Steel is on our Books and been at sea 5 years. His case is one of the innumerable frauds.
Folios 105-106: enclosure with folios 103-104. Indenture dated 13 April 1807 for David Steel, Apprentice to John Christy of London.
Folios 107-108: enclosure with folios 103-104. Letter dated 1 June 1810 by John Christy, Old Gravel Lane, South Georgis in the East, to the Admiralty. His apprentice David Steel bound on 20 May 1805 for 5 years. Request he be discharged if he can find one able landsman to serve in his place.
