Description

Folios 692-693: John Cramer, HMS Pandora, Yarmouth Roads. He reports on the case of John Thompson who was impressed by Lieutenant Hawkey.

Folios 694-695: enclosed with folios 692-693. Robert Dundas, Whitehall. He encloses a letter from the Minister of Ireside, Scotland and says that reliance can be placed on his assertion that John Thompson has not previously been to sea.

Folios 696-697: enclosed with folios 692-693. John Paton, Lasswade. He states that John Thompson had not previously been to sea.

Folios 698-699: enclosed with folios 692-693. David Thompson, 12 Catherine Street, Edinburgh. He is the brother of John Thompson who has been impressed at Yarmouth. He says that John Thompson has never previously been at sea and was travelling to London to take up the trade of a Tailor.

Folios 700-701. Mr. Dundas sends an affidavit to Mr. Croker, Admiralty, regarding John Thompson.

Folios 702-703: enclosed with folios 692-693. Patrick Smith, Justice of the Peace, Dundee. Affidavit sworn by George Scott and Robert Miller confirming that John Thompson is a Journeyman Tailor and that he had never served at sea. Document countersigned by James Smith, Minister.
