Description

Folios 557-558: John Clements, Regulating Captain, Dartmouth. Acknowledges receipt of a copy of a letter from Captain Robert Bloye, HMS Lyra relating to the case of George Roberts, an impressed man on board that sloop who is stated to have been discharged to her from the Rendeyvous at Dartmouth. Reports that he was impressed on the night of 13 December 1809, having come onshore with several others from the Violet Privateer. He did not produce any documents showing he belonged to this vessel. Asks them to look ast his previous letter dated 21 December 1809, which includes a statement by George Roberts.
