Folios 531-532: Benjamin Carter, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Response to a request to state the cases of two impressed men. John Thomas, aged 19 and born in Wales, was impressed on 17 February 1810 by Lieutenant Evans. He said he came here on the La Blanche, belonging to Messrs Holland and Co, at three guineas a month. However the enclosed Indenture stating he was an Apprentice to Christopher Carnes was procured after to claim him. As he sailed and took another employment, he considers this cancelled. Thomas Clements was discharged as ordered by Captain Killwick into HMS Betsy Cairns 12 November 1809, for passage to Plymouth. An able bodied man was received by Lieutenant Fellows at Belfast as a substitute.
Folios 533-534: enclosure with folios 531-532. Christopher Cairns, Liverpool to the Admiralty, 20 February 1810. Request for the discharge of his Apprentice, John Thomas, who was impressed and is on board HMS Princess. Encloses his Indenture [item not included] to facilitate this.
