Folios 504-505: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Response to a request to state the case of two men impressed, William Mason and John Day, who are now on HMS Eliza. William Mason, aged 26, was impressed by Lieutenant Thomas Flinn on 12 February 1810 and detained for service having been employed above two years at sea. John Day was also impressed on the same day by Lieutenant Thomas Flinn on the grounds that he is a seaman with no legal exemption form impress. Charles Jackson, Master of the Eagle has provided a sworn affidavit bu his name was not on the register as Master of this ship.
Folios 506-507: enclosure with folios 504-505. Petition signed by Charles Jackson, Master of the ship Eagles at North Shields, before John Scott, Justice of the Peace, Tynemouth, 13 February 1810. Petition for the discharge of John Day, Mate and William Mason, Carpenter and outlining the circumstances relating to their impressment.
Folio 508: enclosure with folios 504-505. Affidavit signed by John Cross, North Shields, before Thomas Wright, Justice of the Peace, North Shields, 18 January 1810. Affidavit declaring William Mason has been hired by James Cross, Master of the ship Eagle, as Carpenter on this vessel employed in the Coal, Coasting or Baltic Trade and that he neither belongs nor is a deserter from His Majesty's Service.
Folio 509: enclosure with folios 504-505. Affidavit signed by Charles Jackson, before Thomas Smith, Justice of the Peace, Newcastle upon Tyne, 6 February 1810. Affidavit declaring John Day has been hired by Charles Jackson, owner of the ship the Eagle in the America Trade as his Chief Mate and that he neither belongs nor is a deserter from His Majesty's Service.
