Folios 465-466: George Cockburn, HMS Belleisle, Spithead. Willima Crump, Private Marine has been examined by Surgeons and the he is sending the report on his health.
Folios 467-468: enclosure with folios 465-466. Letter dated 29 June 1809 from James Crump, Theobald Road. he is asking fro teh discharge of his som Samuel Crump, a Marine onboard HMS Belleisle at Spithead. On the advice of R.Ward and Mr Bicknell at the Admiralty he may pay 50 Guineas for his discharge or find a substitute. He asks for his son's health to be examined as he believes he is unfit for service, and payment of such a large sum would be detrimental to his large family.
Folio 469: enclosure with folios 465-466. Letter from David Reekie, Surgeon. He has examined Samuel Crump. He has a cold from which he will soon recover. He is of a delicate constitution with will render him liable to be attacked by diseases.
