Folios 437-438: Archibald Cochrane, HMS Culloden, Cawsand Bay. He was invalided when in command of HMS Fox in the East Indies, from where he has travelled as a passenger in HMS Culloden with Edward Pellew, and has now regained his health. He asks for orders.
Folio 439: enclosure with folios 437-438, Undated letter from [?]. In pursuance of orders from Vice Admiral Edward Pellew, Commander in Chief, East Indies, the Honourable Captain Cochrane has been examined by Surgeons and found to be suffering from dysentry and would benefit from a change in climate.
