Folios 432-433: Thomas Cochrane, Portman Square. The Pratique Master at Plymouth is badly treating part of the crew of HMS Imperieuse who had brought a small vessel back. It had been used to provide information to the Spaniards in Catalonia about French armies. This vessel is being kept in quarantine although she sailed with HMS Imperieuse from Gibraltar and has had no communiocation except that had by HMS Imperieuse. The crew are in good health and there is no cargo as the vessel was formerly French at Caldagues near Rosen on the North coast of Spain. He asks for her release.
Folio 434: enclosure with folios 432-433. Letter dated 25 April 1809 from L. Cock, London to John Teed, Plymouth. The papers of La Julie have been refered to the Solicitor who had reported that the ship could not be discharged at Plymouth as it had been to Gibraltar. He recommends that an application be made to the Collections Office for her to be sent to Falmouth where the Custom House will apply for her release.
