Description

Folios 620-621: William Cumberland, HMS Stately, Portsmouth. States that on 13 August 1808 Lieutenant William Franklyn [Franklin] late of HMS Stately ordered the mistress of an Ale House, at Portsmouth, to give to a cutter's crew of HMS Stately, three pints of Rum, which caused the crew to become drunk.
