Folios 253-254: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, off Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 5 May 1808 directed to Captain Robert Mends and passed to him with the enclosed from Mr Caulhorne requesting the discharge of Richard Harrison, having found a substitute for the Lancashire Militia. States that he was impressed by the Gang at Liverpool and produced certificates from Lieutenant Colonel Plumbe dated 19 May 1803 and the Subdivision Clerk for the Hundreds of Lonsdale in this County, of his having found John Birkil as a substitute in the 1st Royal Lancashire Militia. As therefore discharged him.
