Description

Folios 264-265:William Charleton, Regulating Officer, North Shields. He has sent the documents relating to John Davison's impressment on 10 July 1807. He has been two and a half years at sea. Martin Lord was impressed from the Speedwell of Ipswich has no protection and has been at sea longer than two years.

Folios 266-267: enclosure with folios 263-264. William Davison swears an oath dated 25 February 1808 that his son John was legally his apprentice working with Thomas Burr, Shipbuilders. Lists John Davison's career with several ships and Masters and states he has not accepted Bounty.

Folio 267: enclosure with folios 263-264. Letter dated 28 February 1808 by John Bewick, Sunderland. John Davison was impressed from Jospeh and Richard Bulmer's yard and is now on HMS Foxhound and has not used the sea for two years so is not liable for impressment.

Folios 268-269: enclosure with folios 263-263. Letter dated 3 March 1808 by William Balley, Town Clerk, Ipswich. Martin Lord was apprenticed to John Brown and was impressed out of the Speedwell.
