Folios 250-251: William Charleton, Regulating Officer, North Shields. George Donaldson was impressed by Lieutenant Dathan from the John and Mary London, Master Charles Walton. He had papers to say he was a mate but both the Owner and the master were on board , see regulations of August 19th 1806.
Folios 252-253: enclosure with folios 250-251. Letter dated 6 February 1808 by John Knight, Boro. Asks that George Donaldson Chief mate of the John and Mary be released.
