Folios 233-234: William Charleton, Regulating Officer, North Shields. Britton Churchman and John Whitbrew (both described)were impressed by Lieutenant Mitchell from the Chelman Maldon, Thomas Grim, Master because they were not of the sort that could be enrolled in the Sea Fencibles under Captain Roe by the 1803 regulations.
Folios 235-236: enclosure with folios 233-234. Letter dated 28 January 1808 by [Hapard Stackpoole], Maldon. Churchman and Whitbrew are both employed in the Sea Fencibles in Blackwater and were given leave by Lieutenant Dayrell but were impressed by Charleton, who refused to accept his authority, which will undermine their faith in the Service.
Folios 237-238: enclosure with folios 233-234. Letter dated 28 January 1808 by Nicholas Tomlinson, Southend. [Hapard Stackpoole] Has said that Churchman and Whitbrew have been impressed even though Whitbrew has nine children and had leave.
Folios 239-240: enclosure with folios 233-234. Henry Dayrell, Maldon. Tickets of leave for Churchman and Whybrew from the Sea Fencibles to work on the Chelmer brig.
