Folios 189-190: William Charleton, Regulating Officer, South Shields. John Keith of the Fame of Montrose, David Hanton Master, was impressed by Lieutenant Consett because David Carnegie, the owner, went to sea himself to protect one seaman more than was allowed.
Folios 191-192: enclosure with folios 189-190. Letter dated 1 January 1808 by Stephen Lawson, 46 Great Tower Street, London. Is sending an affadavit at the request of David Carnegie of Montrose.
Folios 193-194: enclosure with folios 191-192. David Hanton Master and David Carnegie Owner of the Fame of Montrose in Sunderland appointed John Keith as Chief Mate and they all sailed for Archangel to collect tar, including details as to why John Keith should not be impressed.
