Folios 173-174: Robert Cathcart, Craven Coffee House, Strand. HMS Seagull was captured by the Danish brig Lougen off Christiansand so the Purser William Blackford has no job. Blackford bravely rescued the wounded from the ship as she was sinking but was injured. William Cuthbertson, the Surgeon, lost all his books and instruments. Thomas Wilson, Boatswain, and Daniel Loyd, Carpenter, are steady and brave and worthy of promotion and George Cheyne, Master's Mate is very promising as is Benjamin Case and Daniel peake, Midshipmen. James Carthew.
