Folios 236-237: William Pryce Cumby, HMS Hyperion, Portsmouth. Confirms that on 31 August 1815 the Hyperion was paid off and requests to be put on half pay. The Medical Attendants have recommended"country air and exercise" as he has suffered severely from"rheumatic affection" resulting from his long and continuous service at sea in a variety of climates. As soon as health recovered would accept any employment, consistent with his rank, on any station and in any climate. He will in the meantime be residing at Heighington, Darlington in the County of Durham.
