Folios 198-199: William Fairbrother Carroll, HMS Cyrus, Plymouth. Requests permission to reduce size of coal hole as large enough to store nine months fuel, which is larger quantity than ever needed. Reducing size to take six months supply would allow for storing of hawsers and blocks. Aware other vessels had had similar alterations.
