Folios 176-177: John Clavell, HMS Orlando, Deptford. Following the paying-off and recommissioning of the Orlando requests that he be re-appointed as her captain. States that he has served many years abroad, in the Mediterranean and America. Sir George Cockburn left him in charge of five frigates and seven sloops at Chesapeake. Following peace with America he had a public letter of thanks from Sir George.
