Folios 110-111: Thomas Wren Carter, HM Sloop Emulous. Requests that the"R" be removed from the books in respect of William Grant, who he believes had no intention of deserting from the Emulous. He was left at Curacoa on 17 January 1815 by this Sloop.
Folios 112-113: enclosure with folios 110-111. Letter dated 12 June 1815 by Acting Commander [Archibald Tisdall ?], HMS Rinaldo, Port Royal, to Captain Carter. Confirms received on board on 11 February 1815, John Grant. Made enquiries as to the reason why he was left behind by HMS Emulous and is convinced that it was not a case of desertion, but an accident. Requests the"R" is removed from his name.
