Description

Folios 585-586: Commander Edward Stone Cotgrave, HMS Pylades, Spithead. Encloses a list of defects of his ship and copies of his orders from Rear Admiral Edward Griffith and Commander William Slaughter as well as [no longer present] a weekly account and a copy of his log from 17 May to 22 June.

Folio 587: enclosed with folios 585-586. Commander Edward Cotgrave, Master [illegible] Major and Carpenter John McInnes, HMS Plyades. A list of the ship's defects.

Folios 588-589: enclosed with folios 585-586. Copy of orders from Commander William Slaughter of HMS Archer, Murray's Anchorage, Bermuda, to Commander Edward Cotgrave, HMS Plyades dated 19 May 1815. Under orders from Rear Admiral Edward Griffith, Commander Cotgrave is directed to place himself under the orders of Commander Slaughter. If he becomes separated from the Archer, he is to proceed to Spithead.

Folios 590-591: enclosed with folios 585-586. Copy of orders from Rear Admiral Edward Griffith, HMS Bulwark, Bermuda, to Commander Edward Cotgrave, HMS Pylades, dated 19 May 1815. He is directed to place himself under the orders of Commander William Slaughter of HMS Archer.
