Folios 555-556: Francis Augustus Collier, HMS Grampus, Spithead. Encloses a letter from Lieutenant N D Nicholson of the United States Navy, currently a prisoner aboard his ship along with two other Lieutenants and 25 seamen, asking Capt Collier for clothing for his men. Reports that he ordered the Purser to supply them with the clothing they needed, but to obtain receipts from Lieutenant Nicholson and bills drawn on the American government. Asks for an Admiralty order approving this transaction so he can clear his accounts.
Folio 557: enclosed with folios 555-556. Admiralty Record Office slip saying that Captain Francis Collier's letter about clothing for American seaman should be referred to the Transport Board.
Folios 558-559: enclosed with folios 555-556. Letter from Lieutenant Commander N D Nicholson, United States Navy, aboard HMS Grampus at sea to Captain Francis Collier, dated 28 May 1815. As many of the American seamen now prisoners aboard the Grampus are destitute of clothing, asks if this could be supplied to them.
