Folios 259-260: James Creighton, HMS Aeolus, Woolwich. Advises that when discharging the Gunners' stores at Quebec 24 half barrels of powder, without the King's Mark, were found on board, and from the report of Mr Anderson, Carpenter, HMS Aeolus, they appear to have been taken out of the American privateer Snapper and other American ships. Reports that the powder has been sent t the Magazine at Purfleet and encloses the receipt. Asks on behalf of the crew, if the proceeds of the powder can be distributed amongst them.
Folios 261-262: enclosure with folios 259-260. Receipt, 27 August 1814, issued by Francis Petlake, Clerk of the Cheque, Officer of Ordnance, Purfleet of the prize gunpowder from the American Privateer found on board HMS Aeolus.
