Description

Folios 255-256: Robert Campbell. HMS Tremendous, Malta. Advises there has been no opportunities since his letter of 1 October 1813, to make further observations regarding the weather, in accordance with Admiralty Order 13 January 1811, and how it affects the performance of the ship. Explains that the ship has been at anchor for much of the time but on arrival at Malta wrote to Commissioner Joseph Larcom of Malta Dockyard asking him to send officers to survey the ship throughout and encloses the report. States that the Admiralty will be satisfied that the Principle to which the ship's fastening are secured will tend to establish the new and most important principle on which she is rebuilt. Advises that the ship continues to sail well particularly in light winds.

Folios 257-258: enclosure with folios 255-256. Report, 11 July 1814, by S Harvey, Master Shipwright and W Lawson, Master Attendant, Malta Arsenal to Joseph Larcom, Commissioner of HM Navy, Malta. Reports on the state and condition of HMS Tremendous and concludes that on the whole the ship is in as perfect a state as if she were in docks upon the blocks.
