Folios 220-221: Valentine Collard, Teddington. Acknowledges receipt of Admiralty letter, dated 22 August 1814, regarding the petition of Patrick Kane, who deserted from HMS Vestal, under his command, in 1802. Advises that he wrote to the Navy Board on 13 June 1814 requesting theat the 'R' might be removed and was induced to do so as a result of Kane's good conduct prior to his desertion. Mentions a letter from Patrick Kane to Sir Joseph York [item not enclosed].
