Description

Folios 300-301: J. A. Caulfeild [assumed, not actually signed], North Shields. Responding re query on John Harrison and returning the enclosures with Harrison's affidavit as Mate [not now present]. Harrison was impressed by Lieut. Fullerton on 16 February and was detained as being an apprentice, appointed mate to keep him from impress. He is 21 years old, an active young man who has been 8 years at sea.

Folio 302: enclosure with folios 300-301. Printed form for application of discharge upon payment of the required sum, naming John Harrison, applied for by his father Thomas, near Worchester's Coal Exchange, and saying he was named as Mate of the Four Friends.
