Folios 248-249: Thomas Gordon Caulfield [Caulfeild], HMS Royal Sovereign, Spithead. Advising that one of his seamen named William Shields, late of the sloop HMS Bustard, went on long leave on 24 December 1812, and was marked Run on her books in January, not having been able to get passage back before she sailed to the West Indies. He has been waiting aboard the Salvador del Mundo since April 5th and was discharged into the Royal Sovereign in December. Caulfield asks that the R be removed from his name so he may be paid.
Folio 250: enclosure with folios 248-249. Paper Office note dated 18 February 1814, noting that Captain Caulfield wishes the R to be taken off William Shields' name on the books of the Bustard - referred to Navy Board.
